This 6th card in the Major Arcana Tarot deck is one of the Major Tarot cards for love. The Lovers card depicts a man and a woman standing naked on earth. Above the couple is an angel whose hands are raised, signifying protection and blessings to the couple. There is also the opposite card i.e. The Lovers Reversed which is also explained below for the benefit of our readers.

The Angel shown here is known as Raphael, who is of a similar element to the Gemini zodiac sign that is in charge of this card. Trusted Tarot readers believe that the man and woman in the card are Adam and Eve as they were in the Garden of Eden. The tree behind the two with the snake wrapped around it is the one referred to in the Garden of Eden story.

The Lovers in an Upright Position

When you get this card in its upright position it signifies:
